Harvard NeuroLaw Library

Our collaboration with Harvard’s NeuroLaw Library is rooted in a shared dedication to excellence and innovation— making information accessible and user-friendly. By leveraging Google’s Gemini 1.5 Pro, we’ve adapted complex materials into multiple reading levels, ensuring accessibility for all. This is a significant step toward making critical neuroscience knowledge available to all, leveling the playing field in courtrooms, and promoting justice.

Democratizing Information with Gemini

Monogram was given special access to Gemini, Google’s AI model to make complex scientific articles from the Harvard NeuroLaw Library much easier to read. Think of it like a "comprehension slider”: readers can adjust the text to a level that makes sense for them, based on their own education or reading comfort. This new tool helps make vital information accessible to people regardless of their educational background, particularly helping those navigating the justice system. By making the information clearer, Gemini helps these individuals learn, make better-informed decisions, and ultimately contributes to a fairer legal process. This project shows the NeuroLaw Library's dedication to making sure important knowledge is available to all.

Static Next.js Integration with Dynamic Revalidation

By harnessing the static generation capabilities of Next.js 14 alongside dynamic revalidation, the NeuroLaw Library ensures users have fast and dependable access to assistive information, even in slow service areas.

Content Management with Contentful

In the realm of content management, Contentful serves as the backbone of the CLBB NeuroLaw Library's digital infrastructure. Contentful decouples content from the presentation layer, enabling seamless updates without compromising website performance. The integration of Contentful's webhooks with Next.js 14's app router provides real-time updates to the site, ensuring that the latest information is always available.

Advanced Content Management with GraphQL

Furthermore, GraphQL was employed to fetch content, using a structured and typed content model to enhance the efficiency, performance, consistency, and flexibility of data retrieval. This intuitive setup empowers the NeuroLaw Library team to take full control of their content, ensuring timely updates and maintaining quality. By integrating Contentful into the development workflow, Monogram has delivered a robust and future-proof content management solution for the NeuroLaw Library, enhancing its ability to serve as a vital resource for the legal and judicial communities.

Revolutionizing Legal Resources

The CLBB NeuroLaw Library (https://clbbneurolawlibrary.com/) offers free, open access to accurate neuroscience information. Designed to benefit defense attorneys, prosecutors, judges, probation and parole officers, advocates, incarcerated individuals, and their families. This meticulously curated collection includes journal articles, amicus briefs, affidavits, educational videos, a neurolaw dictionary, and specialized toolkits for attorneys and incarcerated persons, all designed to support and inform the legal and judicial communities.

Streamlined User Acceptance Testing with Vercel Comments

A pivotal phase in the development of the CLBB NeuroLaw Library's website was the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process, which was seamlessly facilitated by Vercel Comments. This innovative tool empowered stakeholders to provide feedback directly within the deployment environment, streamlining communication and collaboration. Team members could pinpoint specific elements on the website, leave feedback, and track changes without ever leaving the deployment environment. By reducing the feedback loop and expediting the implementation process, Vercel Comments played a crucial role in ensuring that the final website met both the design and functional benchmarks set by the NeuroLaw Library.
