The latest update to PQ ESSA, the leading software solution designed to streamline teacher certification analysis and compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), introduces powerful new features and improvements. These enhancements make oversight and compliance easier, more insightful, and more accessible for educators and administrators alike.

## Powered by Payload

For the PQ ESSA marketing website, Payload was selected as the CMS to provide a robust, code-first content management system. Payload's flexible architecture allowed for the creation of custom content types and fields, enabling precise control over the site's structure and content updates on the fly and without developer intervention. Built on top of Next.js, Payload integrates seamlessly with modern development workflows, supporting server-side rendering and static generation to ensure the site remains performant and aligned with best practices. With API routes, incremental static regeneration, and full TypeScript support, the Payload + Next.js stack provides a future-proof solution.

## Nuxt to Next

Migrating PQ ESSA from Nuxt to Next.js was a pivotal decision that laid the foundation for a more dynamic and efficient application, with new performance optimizations and improved server-side rendering. This shift not only ensured long-term scalability but also set the stage for integrating cutting-edge solutions provided by Clever, Vercel, and Firebase as the feature offering of PQ ESSA continues to grow.

## A fresh take

The new design system for PQ ESSA draws inspiration from the existing application while incorporating refreshed design principles, providing a cohesive and visually appealing interface. In addition, more interactive elements have been surfaced to make navigating to any specific set of information a breeze, and the layout of each dashboard view has been fully thought out to enhance the overall usability of the application.

## Access granted

Redesigning the authentication flow was essential in simplifying user access and ensuring security. The new system now offers Single Sign-On (SSO) for some users, significantly reducing login friction and improving the overall user experience. For all users, the revamped flow introduces enhanced security measures that safeguards sensitive student and teacher data. This creates a secure yet frictionless entry point into PQ ESSA, allowing educators and administrators to focus on their core tasks rather than struggling with login procedures.

## A clearer picture with Raster

To streamline asset management without adding overhead, Raster was utilized as a lightweight, developer-friendly solution for handling digital assets everywhere media is used. Acting as a drop-in replacement for traditional file storage, Raster simplified the way media is uploaded, referenced, and versioned throughout the PQ ESSA marketing site. Its versioning system ensures content updates stay organized and traceable, while its seamless integration keeps the development process moving without interruption.
